TCG 101

An online TCG (trading card game) shares the same concepts as its physical counterpart, with a few adjustments. Firstly, you don't have to pay a dime to play, it's completely free! And secondly, you won't be loaded down with a ten pound box of palm sized paper (or, holographic) cards tucked away in a shoebox under your bed for the rest of eternity, maybe just a few dusty folders in the back of your hard drive. In any case, it's just as fun on the internet as it is in real life-and just as addictive. The basic concept is simple: collect, trade, master. And, hopefully, you'll have some fun and meet some people along the way.

Some History

The first trading card game, out there in the real world, was Magic: the Gathering, published by Wizards of the Coast. But, the collectible card game, which, in truth, is more like the online TCG, dates back to 1904, with the introduction of The Base Ball Card Game. The first online TCG was created by Calico of, the now inactive, Senshi Card-Mania!.

Theme

In the beginning, Sweet Banana was going to be a snack food game. But trying to define what snack food is became really complicated and messy, so, for the sake of argument the theme of Sweet Banana became something along the lines, and a mix of, street food, fast food, snack food, pastries, confectionery, beverages-basically anything that isn't a well balanced meal.

But, then, I finally decided to just make Sweet Banana a FOOD related TCG. I like food too much. I can't help it. With that said, leave your favorite food in the "Comments?" section of the join form to get an extra card in your starter pack!

Cards

Cards are pretty essential to a trading card game, which goes without saying. At Sweet Banana, there are two types of cards: normal and special. All the regular cards have the same black, rounded border and are worth one, while all the special cards have the same dotted black border and are worth two.

There are at Sweet Banana are seperated into three main groups: normal (worth one), puzzle (worth one) and special (worth two). Each deck also has a Cuisine Type used for Cook-Off and denoted by a flag on the deck list.
